Tips For Completing an Error-Free Application

  1. Utah requires a notary bond but does not provide one. That's why we include the bond in the state package. After getting your bond, you must have it notarized by a Utah notary in good standing.
  2. Before submitting your application, you must pass a notary test. The state provides a study guide for you to review. After submitting the $95 administration fee and passing the test, you must also complete a mandatory background check.
  3. Double-check your contact information before submitting your application. The Office of the Lieutenant Governor will email you your Certificate of Authority using the email provided in your application.
