Tips For Completing An Error-Free Application

  1. The state of Kentucky county clerk’s office requires all notary applicants to purchase a bond, but they do not provide one. You must purchase a bond from a notary bonding agency such as Notaries.com (included in our package).
  2. You must sign your surety bond before submitting to the county clerk’s office! Use your full legal name for your official seal of office and make sure you provide your full legal name on both the bond and application.
  3. The notary application requires a $10 filing fee that goes to the Secretary of State. If you mail the application provide a $10 check. If you’re submitting the application online, you will pay the filling fee electronically on the SOS website.
